Appetite Suppresant

No matter which brand of appetite suppresant you choose remember that they all work in basically the same way.  In humans, the hunger response is extremely powerful and is that way for good reason.  When you experience genuine feelings of hunger you know it is time to eat.  However, the unfortunate part about the hunger response is that it doesn't tell you what to eat only that you should.

The feeling of hunger is triggered by the hypothalamus which is the part of the brain that controls appetite.  Appetite suppresants work by controlling the hypothalamus so that the feeling of hunger is reduced or eliminated.  Many people report that when using appetite suppresants, they tend to eat less at meals and can go longer between meals without feeling hungry.   This is why appetite suppresants are so effective and why millions of people use them each year when dieting.

Unfortunately, as helpful as appetite suppresants can be they can also be abused and cause harm.  Many people have unrealistic expectations when dieting so they will tend to take shortcuts to try and achieve their weight loss goals more quickly.  Cutting calories is one thing but using excessive amounts of appetite suppresants can be a very bad idea. Therefore if you decide to use appetite suppresants, be sure and follow the manufacturer's instructions very carefully so that you are not taking any unnecessary risks.

Remember that while appetite suppresants can be a very helpful addition to your weight loss program, they need to be just an addition and not the basis of your plan.  Your long-term weight loss plan should include healthy eating choices, regular exercise and the occasional treat to help you stay motivated and focused for life.
